You could say that I have more of a relationship with the internet dating site (s) than I have with the girls I meet off them.
My first online dating site experience was Match.com
. Maybe it was because I was a dating site virgin, but I found it to be a match made in heaven. Yes, MATCH.COM gave me all that I thought I wanted in a dating site: lots of choices, photos of most of their members, a simple interface to do my searches... yes, MATCH.COM was pretty amazing. And I got 2 serious, multi-date matches out of it.
Until I met Perfectmatch.com. Now, here was an online dating site with sex appeal. Hot young singles, the dating equivalent of that hot club downtown I could never get into. Perfectmatch.com
promised me no married people or felons too... which wasn't something I was worried about until they told me it was a problem. Result: 1 'hookup' date, but no true love.
Lately, I started seeing a couple of the smaller online dating sites like Date.com and JDate.com
. Like that exotic girl that sat next to you in your civics class, they were new and something different. And they did have a new, fresh selection of singles... even in my area, online dating can sometimes seem like the same people over and over. But no success (beyond IM flirting from these sites).
Now I'm seeing Yahoo! Personals
. After a rocky start, I can see this dating site being in my future. It's easy, big, and has lots of singles. Searches are fast. Most of the profies have good pics. And I already use Yahoo! for my e-mail, so I'm on the site everyday anyway.
Now, I just need to find the girl instead of another dating site.
